Franz West made some explanatory notes for the museum about the liberties regarding the installation of Clamp. These must have been made in the Kröller-Müller Museum because the way the floor is depicted shows the new situation after the reinforcement with the MDF boards. In reality the positioning of the panels in different compositions suggested by the sketch is not really possible because the original floor panels overlap adjacent boards in a fixed pattern as a result of the way the floor was cut up into the size of the MDF boards after the reinforcement.
