6. Statement of significance (2006)
creator(s) Evert van Straaten (museum director)
publisher Kröller-Müller Museum, Otterlo

The director of the Kröller-Müller Museum, who had acquired Clamp for the collection, formulated a statement of significance for Clamp in preparation of the course on Risk Assessment for Installation Art. This proved to be very helpful in understanding the nature and the identity of the artwork.
The Risk Assessment course is developed and adapted to installation art by Agnes Brokerhof from the Netherlands Institute of Cultural Heritage. It served as part of research topic B1 in the project: Preservation, organized by TATE.
