B1 – CREATE NEW ARTEFACT (click download for pdf document)
This diagram gives a schematic overview of the procedures that are part of the documentation process. The whole process should not be interpreted as a linear process, with a start and a finish. Certain activities are repeated at different intervals and would build up a collection of historical records (e.g.Location and Exhibition History and Condition and Conservation). The artefact (a set of records on artworks) is created within different modules, each of which allows information to be collected according to a number of categories and date. For example, new information in Condition and Conservation (CC) is added with each inspection or treatment thus creating a body of information about how the condition of the artwork has changed over time.

B-2 ADD NEW INFORMATION: CREATE RECORDS THAT DESCRIBE EVOLUTION OVER TIME (click download for pdf document)
Illustrates how records and details are added to the module over time and thus how the archive and history of the artefact expands.

B-3 RECORD HISTORY IN ARTEFACT MODULES (click download for pdf document)
This is an illustrated view of the Condition and Conservation module and shows the timeline sequence of records. The documents are ordered according to document type and date of the information, which is often identical with the entry date but can be adjusted when different.
