’Revolution’ was first shown at the exhibition 'IMAGO, fin de siècle in Dutch contemporary art' during the 1990 art fair ‘Kunstrai’ in Amsterdam. Imago's theme was contemporary art and technology. The travelling exhibition was jointly produced by the Netherlands Office for Fine Arts (RBK, now ICN) and the Netherlands Media Art Institute/Montevideo. All installations were created for this exhibition and were purchased by the RBK. Between 1990 and 1995 Imago was shown in Locarno, Bratislava, Barcelona, Oporto, Hamburg, Sevilla, Gunma, Enschede, Seoul, Taipei.
