Artist Interview (8 November 2005)
creator(s) Barbara Sommermeyer (conservator)
contributor(s) Ross Sinclair (artist); Kristine von Oehsen (art historian)

The artist was interviewed at his home studio in Kilcreggan near Glasgow. Access to his own research material was granted. Questions about the set up of the installation in Hamburg and at former venues were discussed. Discussion of the making of the chalk drawing and looking at the artist’s photo-documentation of each venue lead to conclusions about the condition of the drawing: Many obliterated areas should not be regarded as damages – as primarily presumed – but are changes intentionally carried out by the artist himself.
The interview took 5 hours (in 2 intervals), was recorded on tape, transcribed, edited and finally approved by the artist. The original tape was copied to a digital format. Both formats are archived.
